“RED FEZ INVITATIONAL”

Over the past 12 years we here at El Zaribah have enjoyed what has grown to be one of the premier golf tournaments in the Valley of the Sun, the annual “Shriners Golf Classic”.   Well, two years ago we stepped it up to include the “Red Fez Invitational”.

The 2010 Red Fez Invitational will be played at the ASU Karsten Golf Club on Thursday, April 22, 2010.  This date coincides with the Western Shrine Association convention, April 21st thru April 24th and you are welcome to register for WSA as well.  Come join everyone for a great deal of fun and try to take that traveling trophy back to your Temple.  Defending their championships will most likely be the 2008 winners, Khiva Shriners from Amarillo, Texas and the current Defending Champions, Naja Shriners from Deadwood, South Dakota.  Your team must be comprised of four Shriners from your Temple to be eligible for the trophy.  If you cannot conjure up four players, however, don’t let that stop you from joining the fun.  We’ll pair you with someone.

The third annual Red Fez Invitational is open to all Shrine Temples (or outlying Shrine Clubs) to participate and will be incorporated into our annual Shriners Golf Classic.  Shriner teams must be comprised of Shriners only and shall compete for a large traveling trophy.   A Shrine Temple may enter as many teams as they wish.  Tournament format is a 4 person scramble with Shrine teams competing in both the Shriners Golf Classic and Red Fez Invitational.  Again, if you want to play but do not have a team, no problem. 

The winning team will have its Temple’s name engraved on the traveling trophy that will be sent to that Temple (or Shrine Club) for display after the tournament.  Each member (4) of that winning team shall also receive an individual trophy for themselves.  The traveling trophy shall be returned to El Zaribah each year during the month of February.

Our hotel is the Tempe Mission Palms in Tempe, Arizona.  We will have free transportation between the hotel and the golf course.

Format:  Four Person Scramble
Team:  Four “Shriners” from your Temple if you are competing for the traveling trophy.  Individuals will be paired with others.
